Gaza is Resistance: Tatreez Workshop with Amnna Attia

Join Palestinian artist Amnna Attia this Saturday at SKETCH Working Arts for an immersive Tatreez workshop. Delve into Gaza's rich history, symbols, and resilience as we learn the art of embroidering this powerful Palestinian tradition, spanning 3,000 years. Bring your own kuffiya to embroider a symbolic Gaza motif through the art of Tatreez. 🪡

DATE: Sat, Dec. 23
TIME: 2-6pm

LOCATION: SKETCH Working Arts: 180 Shaw Street, Lower Level (LL).

BRING:
Please bring your favourite kuffiya to embroider on! If you do not have one, you can also bring a cotton item or reach out to us!

ACCESS:
Artscape Youngplace is wheelchair accessible, with ramps and an elevator. There are touchless automatic doors.

SKETCH has a single-stall accessible washroom and a two-stall gender neutral washroom.

This workshop is Pay What You Can. 100% of donations are going towards the Community Defense Fund, endorsed by the Palestinian Youth Movement. The fund was created in response to repression and a rise in criminalizing protest and direct action in solidarity with Palestine.

This workshop would not be possible without the support of the Canadian Race Relations Foundation.
