OFFERING:

  1. Work with us

  2. Studio visits

Work with us!

  1. Are you an emerging artist or collective? Do you have approved funding for a project, but no exhibition space? Are you looking to collaborate on presentation and programming?

Responding to the realities of gallery funding, we wanted to offer alternative and more flexible ways to collaborate that are not tied to a deadline.

Due to gentrification, many civic spaces in Kensington, Chinatown and Alexandra Park neighbourhoods are pushed out of the area. We're aiming to serve an essential function as a civic space for community to gather, and we're looking for projects that include underserved communities.

Our priorities:

  • Community responsive programming

  • Socially engaged practices, collaborations and projects by collectives

  • Offsite, digital or onsite projects that amplify voices outside of the mainstream systems

  • Projects that are playful, experimental, challenging and critical

What's helpful to include in your email:

  • A little bit about you/ your collective

  • Your project idea

  • Why would you like to collaborate with Whippersnapper?

  • How does your proposal consider Whippersnapper’s unique storefront window and connection to the street?

  • Additional resources you may need for your project

Send us your daydreams and ideas to marina at programming@whippersnapper.ca.

The board meets monthly and your submission will undergo an internal review process
