 24 HOURS OF LIVE ART | Sleep is for Dead People 2

Saturday Sept 30th, 7pm – Sunday October 1st 7pm WhipperSnapper held the second sleep is for dead people group show. Contributing artists spent 24 hours creating a piece, and their finished products are now on display.

Freedom Clothing is a creative fashion collective based in downtown Toronto. They promote fresh and local designers as well as a selection of vintage and remade items. Their store is located at 939 Bloor St. W (1.5 blocks west of Ossington Ave).

Over time he has been coaxed from his little house to play shows with Pixies, Wolf Parade, Built to Spill, the Weakerthans, Julie Doiron, and the Constantines. He played the 2006 Sasquatch Festival, and has appeared on Much Music, Zed TV and MTV’s Subterranean. A talented illustrator and animator, Chad’s work has shown across Canada. His drawings have graced album covers for Shout Out Out Out and label-mates The Cape May, and he has created fantastic animated videos for Impossible Shapes and Love as Laughter.

Previous Showing: istoica - Fragments of Everyday (Sept 15th -26th)

"Fragments of Everyday" is the first solo exhibition of Toronto Photographers "istoica". "istoica" (Chris Altorf and Jessica Hayes) maintain a daily Toronto photoblog at http://www.istoica.com/everyday .The exhibit will showcase some of their continuing work in portraiture as well as their exploration in to subjects inanimate. The opening will begin at 7pm on September 15th and the show will continue to run through until September 26th.

Previous Showing: Lamentations (August 4th - 12th)

LAMENTATIONS is our first solo exhibition featuring the energetic, monumental and provocative paintings of Joshua Barndt.

Barndt is a graffiti and community mural artist, with a specific interest in socially critical content.  Trained on the streets of Toronto and classically in the studios of Concordia University, he is exhibiting a large body of solo and collaborative canvases embedded in contemporary social critique.
